I don't know how many times I've watched...

"The Terminator", but quite a few.

I just noticed for the first time that it was based on the writings of Harlan Ellison!

Any Ellison fans out there?

BTW: A boy and his dog was a Harlan Ellison story. He also did some early Star Trek episodes.

If there are any Ellison fans out there in ATOT land, you really should read "Chasing the Nightmare"!!

Don't worry, Brutuskend, I think your post is interesting and informative. I'm not very familiar with Ellison's works (although I've heard of him and what he is/was like), but it's interesting to find out he was involved in The Terminator and Star Trek.

ellison rocks.
i have no mouth and i must scream is an amazing collection.
he just did a comic book, no?

I really enjoy Ellison also. I think the first thing I read was the Deathbird Stories and I've picked up a few other things he wrote as well. Good stuff!

Check out the old B&W Twilight Zone episodes, "Soldier" and "Demon with the Glass Hand". Both Ellison stories. "Soldier" is closest to Terminator. I think there was some initial controversy since Ellison wasn't originally credited.

Agreed, Ellison is an excellent writer, "I have no mouth but I must scream" gave birth to the "Cube" and "Hypercube" movies (changed slightly of course) it's an excellent book of short stories, I know there is one in there (pretty sure it's that book) where the text is all in different shapes and finally ends up being written in a spiral (tough to read but excellent story)
