Why in the heck is two 4.7 gig dvd's (single layer) still vastly cheaper than the 8.5gig double layer discs? I mean come on - it has been years since the introduction of the discs. . . . I want to be able to back up my data on 3 discs instead of 6. . .

Office max had a similar deal about 2 months ago. I grabbed a 1tb external enclosure for $100 with no rebates. I took it apart and the two 500g WD GP drives are in my machine in RAID 0. Not a bad deal.

I pay $.75 per for DL and $.32 per for SL.

Oh well. There's no burning an 8gb file to SL and I only use maybe 5 a month.
