my Visiontech Gforce3 will run a game for about a minute and then hang the system. This happens on ALL games.
I have the latest det. driver in it, 44.03
The latest 4in1 for VIA 4.48
Latest bios setup for M/B
DX 8.1
Any Ideas on what I may have missed?
Has my Gforce gone to sh*t?

Abit KX-7 333
AMD 2100+
512 meg of PC2700 ram, cas 2.5 Samsung
Live 5.1 sound
VisionTech Gforce3

I'm not sure if this will help though but I own an ATI card and the latest drivers require my to d/l and install directx 9 (I own an 8500 DV) for it to work. You can try upgradng from 8.1 to 9.

It also might be that the system is overheating, or at least the video card. Do you have the card overclocked in any way? Is the stock heatsick working properly? Make sure the fan on it is still running, because that could be the cause of your problems.

simple check for overheating that works quite often - just remove the case side door and try it that way.

you could also try different drivers, the latest driver isnt always the greatest driver. 30.82's are a good set for GF3's, will let you play dvd aswell, unlike the 44.03's for some (inc. me :().

Heatsink fan is running and the heatsink is warm to the touch (there is heat transfur)
Have a KingWin case with 6 major fans in it. Don't think cooling is the problem, unless the thermal compound is compromised.
I've never taken the HSF off the board.

I'll give the 30.82s a try thanks.
