I don't have a 'Sharing' tab... confused

I'm running Windows 2000 and I want to enable ICS. I connect through a hub that is connected to an sdsl modem (which is used by two other computers) and I have a static IP assigned to it.
I want to run ICS to share internet access with other computers that don't have static IPs on the network. So, I went to Network Properties, and I opened the Local Area Network... there's nothing else other than "make a new connection".
I open Network Properties, and Open Local Area Network, and click Properties, but there's only the "general" tab.
I only have one NIC, will that be a problem? All the computer connect through the hub. Please help...

To share a connection you need to have something to share it on. Basically you need at least another nic in this setup. I don't know if that will fix your sharing tab problem or not though.

it sounds like you've got your system set up way wrong. did you have a working lan before this? if not, you need to do that. Secondly, to share 1 ip addy with your set up, you have to have the modem hooked to one computer, which means you need another NIC.

part of your problem may be this, is ICS set up on all the comps on the network.

I would suggest looking at some of the recent threads about sharing a high speed connection, so you have a better understanding of what your are trying to do, cause right now, you're doing it wrong.

have fun 🙂

Yup, put a second nic/modem in there and that option will be available. Make sure that the connection you are sharing is the one to the internet, not the lan.
