If someone wants a thread about a particular religion, then they can post one. We don't have to have a thread about each one just for the sake of having it. When no one posts a thread about a subject it generally means that there isn't much interest in it.

All Ive seen from both the Atheist and the Bible threads are people attacking eachother's beliefs. Again, im not saying remove religion completely. I just feel that we dont need the "Bible-Passage-a-Day" type of thread.

We had a pretty good discussion the other day about Wicca and witchcraft that didn't get flamefesty at all. All the religious flamefests follow a pattern

1. Christian douche posts something Christian.
2. Rabid atheist attacks the Christian/Christianity.
3. Christian douche flames back.
4. Flames escalate from all sides.
5. Atheist wanker screams foul, cries a river about being oppressed for his beliefs, whines to the mods, and gets the thread locked.
6. ?
7. Profit.

It's always the same thing.

I don't care if there's a bible in a year thread. I think there could be some great discussions in it, and everyone could learn a lot, but I would never click on it because of what invariably happens. It's predictable like clockwork. I say let them have it. No one will be able to enjoy it because some lamer will come along and derail it, but sure, give it a shot.

Sadly enough, that is exactly what happens. And ALWAYS in that order.

Just like everyone could learn a lot from other religions as well. Im just saying why only post the bible? On top of that, if you posted every religious book/scripture for all religions, you'd have a lot of threads, and most would turn into flamefests. You are correct though, that is usually how these threads tend to go.

It's not only the bible. It's whatever someone wants to post. We have a bible thread because someone felt like posting a bible thread. We don't have a Koran (Or however you spell it this week. I've seen it spelled about a dozen different ways.) thread, because no one felt like posting one. Maybe you should start one? There's nothing stopping you. I would *love* to read the Koran, but I just never seem to find the time. If someone posted a little bit here everyday I'd read. I probably wouldn't post in the thread because I have a low douche threashold, but I'd read it.

There's nothing stopping anyone from starting a thread on whatever religion they want to. It's not a big conspiracy. We only have a bible thread because someone wanted to post it.

Yay and God said to Abraham, "you will kill your son, Issak", and Abraham said, I can't hear you, you'll have to speak into the microphone." "Oh I'm sorry, Is this better? Check, check, check... Jerry, pull the high end out, I'm still getting some hiss back here."
