Everyone oohs and aahs over this car but it is ridiculously expensive and very limited in production. 95% of us will never even see one and I'd venture to say that 100% of us (or very very close to it) will never ever drive one let alone own one.

Yet I see this car plastered all over the web and the automotive rags. I give it a solid meh.

Its an engineering masterpiece. 0-60 in 2.5 sec and 1001 hp. It achieve the "impossible". They did it just so that they know it can be done.

I see it more of a Enginnerring marvel. I really don't care that it has 1001hp, or that it goes 250mph. But rather the 7-speed DSG transmission is a work of god (50 Engineers and 5 Years). Its able to take 1001hp + insane torque for 20 years+! Would use that transmission over anymost anyother one if I was building a car.

Otherwise, this car has no purpose. Its not a track car. In the US its not going to be going 250mph. (or will it :D). Its just a two-seater Gran Tourer.

BTW. There are six Veyron's coming to my town this Spring. Maybe I'll go check it out. (In with car people, just ask.)

See, I don't find those stats all that impressive. Throw gobs of money at anything and you can achieve it. You could buy an older Formula One car for less than that thing costs.

Now, a car that can do 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and costs $30k? That's impressive to me.

I am not massively crazy about the Veyron either... It's an insane car, but it's so out of control it's just meh.

Jessica Alba driving a Veyron, ATOT's ultimate meh.

You guys are so lame. I agree neither the car nor the girl listed above are the "hottest" things I've ever seen, but I'd still bang either one.

You tell me what other car will get you to 240+ mph outside of a Formula1 race car. As for Alba, pvssy is pvssy. Show me a hot chick and I'll show you someone sick of her sh1t.

Its beauty comes from what it has done. Every so often we see a car come out thats head and shoulders above the rest, and does "the impossible". Its about mankinds spirit to push theenvelope as much as possible. And when you get tot he edge of the cliff you dont turn around. You build a bridge and keep going.
Its why we map DNA, its why we put a man on the moon, why we send submarines to the darkest depths of the oceans and put telescopes into space to peer into the farthest reaches.

And in this case, its about pushing our love of cars as far as humanly possible, just because we can. I look at high performance cars as the epitome of the human spirit.

Dude, it's a car...A ridiculously expensive car.

Thanks for the inspirational speech though. Good effort. I give it a 6/10.

Everyone oohs and aahs over this guys post but it is ridiculously absurd and very limited in coherence. 95% of us will never even understand him and I'd venture to say that 100% of us (or very very close to it) will never ever figure him out let alone see the point of this thread.

Yet I see this guys posts plastered all over ATOT. I give it a solid meh.

You have to look past the car, and look to its design and engineering feats. You did read the article about how when they changed the mirrors to make them more aerodynamic the front came off the ground right?
The MIRRORS were acting like wings and keeping the front end on the ground.

If you read Clarkson's review, the Veyron is relaxed at 240mph. If I'm going 200+ I would like to know I'm doing 200+, I would go with the Viper.

Anybody with even a modicum of interest in cars will "ooh and ahh" over the Veyron. If you don't care about cars, then you obviously won't get it.

What is the point of this thread? For you to tell us that our hobbies and interests are stupid?

I do care about cars. I'm a car nut and a racing fan. I just don't see why people fuss and fawn over this car like they do that's all.

Lighten up, I'm just asking the question. As I've gotten older I've stopped being overly impressed by cars like this is all. Maybe because I see exotic cars all the time, I don't look at them the same way I used to when I was younger.

BTW-Your hobbies and interests ARE stupid. That's not my fault. :p;)
