I don't get Scion's website...

Right on the main page they show a bunch of "tricked" out cars, then put a disclaimer right next to it:

Vehicle may be shown with optional equipment. Colorized vehicles are for show only and not street legal and shown with non-genuine Scion parts (which void the warranty and may adversely impact performance and safety).

If thats the case, why the hell are they showing them then? Effectively using them for advertisement?

They're just trying to cover their butts. My xB has lots of aftermarket parts and they've never voided my warranty when I took it in for a fix.

to make it more badass, why else?

can you imagine some spiky-hair teenager saying "oh no i better not bolt on that spoiler and boost gauge because it'll void my xB's warranty!"?

It depends what you have done. Say if you have an aftermarket intake and your tranny blows, of course they would have to warranty it because the intake has nothing to do with the transmission. If you did something to the tranny and it blows, well then you have a problem. The dealership has to prove that the aftermarket mod that you did affected the problem that is in question. Some dealerships can be dicks though and not give you a warranty on the engine because you have aftermarket tail-lights lol
