I don't get iPhone 5

Does anyone feel the same way as I do? It's lighter. But I never thought 4s was heavy to being with. So they solved a problem that didn't exist in the first place.

Great.

The larger screen is nice. The faster CPU and more ram is nice. It being slightly lighter is nice.

Adding LTE is a huge improvement. That alone made it worth it I think.

I have a GSIII, and I really like it, it's great. But my wife's iP5 is considerably quicker in practically every way. Its data speed with Verizon LTE is seriously hardcore. I'm driving down the road and she's like, "hey look, 720p without stutter, skips, or any waiting at all". Damned bragging woman! 😉

If that was the only improvement from the 4s to the 5, you would be correct.

Of course, there are many other improvements, so you are wrong.

I don't really notice the bigger screen. To me, it still functions much like on the 3.5 inch screen. If somebody tells me it's a lighter version of 4s I would have believed.

I think we are at the point where we really dont need portable computers to be more powerful. We need them to be more useful which is really about the software. We need them to be more power efficient so they arent as wasteful (more green) and also to last longer during the day.
We need them more convenient and usable which to me means larger screens with overall smaller bodies.

I dont want the iPhone 5 but over the past year I've been looking at loads of big phones and small tablets. Wanted the Note and held off cuz of the Note 2. Went into verizon to look at the Intuition and spotted Motorolas RAZR M.
THATS the phone I really need! Powerful, yet compact. Something thats pleasant to carry around all day but also functional and fun to use.

I can see why folks would jump on the iphone 5. Its twice as powerful yet a bit smaller, AND better battery life. Thats the direction all technology should be headed in.

I messed with the new iPhone 5 today at the Apple store (my wife's will arrive sometime next week), and LOVED IT! The thing is amazingly fast, and the extra screen size is well implemented (not like a big bulky GS3). If you are coming from an iPhone 4, you are going to love the iPhone 5.

LTE and an aluminum back is all that really matters. 😛

I have to say, though, that the glass back on the 4S is pretty awesome. My year old 4S still looks brand new . I have a few minor scuffs around the aluminum band, but the gorilla glass is perfectly pristine. As long as it doesn't break, it looks great.

exactly what people reported. ever since 4, i knew they'll keep making it lighter, I wish they would keep the same thickness but throw a big ass battery in there.. might be able to make the battery last like 1.5-2 days 🙂

The thing that cracks me up is all the people complaining about the weight, and then put an Otterbox on it 😛

My first impression of the 4S was "heavier than it looks". But I mean, the whole phone is like, under 5 ounces? Not really all that heavier overall. I do think the new 5 is actually a little TOO light lol...I would have preferred a battery that was twice as thick to both last all day and give me a better grip. Ah well, I'll wait for a nice battery case to come out 😉

Damn, that is right on. I couldn't agree more. I honestly feel like my 4S is plenty powerful, I just wish it lasted longer and was a bit more open (although the jailbreak helps quite a bit). I think the race to have more cores and more speed often times sacrifices things like better battery life. I don't need a thinner, prettier, faster phone. I need a phone that can go from morning till evening without me searching for a place to recharge it.

I don't see where anyone claimed there was a problem with the 4s. Apple is simply continuing to improve and evolve what has become their flagship device. What's not to get? It's called business.

Well the iPhone 5 is both faster and longer living, so it doesn't seem like that's the reason you're not into it.

LTE really should have been in the 4S. However, I'm not too bothered with mobile broadband. 3G is plenty fast enough. Data caps are just too limited to make good use of the higher speeds LTE offers.

I'm not "not into" the iPhone 5. I imagine that were I due an upgrade that is the phone I would get. That being said, the battery life on the 5 will have to be worlds better than the 4S, not just a little bit, for it to really impress me. Maybe it is already there but it most definitly would have been if making a thinner, prettier phone wasn't such a priority.

Waiting to upgrade. I want Apple to address the 'purple haze' camera issue and the scratching on the anodized aluminum.

I doubt they are going to change anything because these do not even rise to the level of the death grip which the IP4 which they never even addressed except giving you a case.
