There are different variations of hot. Most hot sauces are just concentrated acids. Your body probably doensn't produce enough "buffers" to nuetralize them until they are taken care of.

I think spicy is an acquired taste. Many times I've eaten the hottest foods and it doesn't phase me, nor do I think about it. But if I go to a restaurant that sells hot wings, I sometimes notice the people next to me get red in the face upon eating MILD wings. It just depends.

doesn't taste better to me either. its just makes it a chore to eat. i can do it just to be macho or if i'm bored i guess. but i think it detracts from the actual taste:p

I love hot and spicey food, even ate a whole habanero pepper once although that was over the top. To give you an idea of how spicey I like it here's how I usually make my homemade salsa:

2 tomatoes
1 half white onion
6 jalapeno peppers
2 dried chile peppers (large)
6 drops of Spontaneous Combustion (habanero & capsacin based hot sauce)
3 cloves of garlic
dash of salt
Blend

It's some good stuff :)

I like to taste the flavor of the food not the HEAT.

I like some spicy Italian, Korean and Indian dishes but mostly mild.
