I know I can't eat anything even if it's SLIGHTLY hot. I start sweating and getting dizzy whenever I try it. It HURTS. I don't understand why y'all are such gluttons for pain. WOuld you ask your friend to punch you in the mouth? :) I once ate a really hot pepper and I almost had to go to the hospital.

EDIT: Hot = Spicy

except it doesn't feel like a punch in the mouth to us; it's more like sex with the burning afterwards

That is all.

yup, Northeasterner.

Your food is bland. I used to live in NY...when I went back, I realized that food there is like eating...grey.

It's an acquired taste, like wine. But Maaaaaaaan is spicy food good.

I would say eating something to hot is uncomfortable but I've never really thought it felt painful.

I don't know what to tell you. I love hot food, and having a Mexican girlfriend means I get a lot of it. I've never had it burn coming out, just going in.

LOL, I had some General George Chicken one time. Started to chew on something, and then realized it was a dryed pepper as the discomfort moved through my mouth.

Spat that thing out pretty quickly.

i also think that over time, your taste buds dull down a bit, or whatever it is in your yapper that is receptive to spicy foods - and you become more tolerant of them and even crave them. not sure if this is true.

start with mild stuff and work your way up slowly. there are many avenues of hot & spiciness to be enjoyed.

I don't pretend to be a macho pain guy

but I love spicy foods.

I have pushed my pallet to a point that I like, and I think food tastes better with spice.

And it has to be the right spice too. You can't just add a pound of red pepper to somethin and it taste good, it will taste like sh1t.

I love goin to Taste of Thai, they have spicy level 1, 2 , 3, 4, 5 and Thai Hot. I like 4, it is just enough to not make me cry.

I also put pepper on just about everything I eat, because I love pepper(fresh ground!)

you mean spicy? i thought you meant warm :p so i was like "i guess... personally i like a nice warm meal :) "

Spicy i dunno, i just really like the way it tingle in my mouth. I don't get dizzy or sick though unless it's something INSANELY spicy in which case i'm not interested, i dont hate myself that much.

My little 4 yr old daughter can eat HOT CHEETOS! You wimp! ;)

Seriously though, it is an acquired taste. Eventually it becomes not hot, just an added flavor.

I love me some Mexican Food.

Thai Food is also spicy and yummy!

I love it spicy. Jalepeno, Chipotle, Cayenne, even some Habanero on occasion. Only when I over indulge in extremely spicy and greasy do I have back-door problems.

Live it up.

I have to agree with you. I've never understood the desire for spicey food. Spice totally ruins the flavor.

"Gee, I sure wish I could enjoy this food, if it just weren't for the fact that my tongue is on fire and my esophagus is detereorating..."
