Hey Viper. That *is* hard to read. And really, those are the good stories. There must be folks out there wishing they had one last sentence with their loved one. That article makes the tragedy real. I'm in Alaska, as you know, so it seemed a bit surrealistic when the towers fell. Took a long while to sink in. But it's the human stories like the one you linked that makes it real all over again.

We can all take this as a reminder to tell our loved ones how special they are (hopefully in everyday conversation, so it never comes to this). How precious a few seconds can be!

All this stuff makes me think how life can suck. Then I watch come PBS special on the planes that were coming from over seas and got stuck in Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada. They had thousands of people with no where to go. The passengers were stuck in the planes for hours and then shuttled to some school gyms. What happened next made me happy to think that when things are at their worst, it brings out the best in people. The residents started cooking food, donating blankets, toothbrushes and stuff like that. The next thing they did was to start bringing the passengers into their own houses and letting them use the showers and giving them a place to call home. I love to hear stories like that.
