I wouldn't sit there for three hours for that movie.
I'd sit there for three hours with your girlfriend though. Just kidding....
I agree sitting in a theatre for three hours is not the most comfortable thing to do. But to have the movie closer to the book, the movie should have been longer. I imagine that the "Extend Edition" will be thirty to forty minutes longer.Originally posted by: Spooner

or do like they used to an include an intermission. Of course people are less cordial now and oyu will probably lose your seat.

I've already been in my career for about 2 years, so don't give me a "i'm older and wiser than you" speech. That comparison is infinitely different than a long movie, though. Since you said you were kidding a little, I won't pursue my counter-argument.Originally posted by: palad
No, I'm not kidding. Consider it good training for a career. If you can't sit on your butt for three hours, how will you ever do it for eight (or, if you're going into management, for 12)?
Okay, maybe I'm kidding just a little.![]()
Seriously, tho, I when I saw FOTR, I didn't even realize how much time had passed, and I'm chronically hyperactive -- I always have to be moving or doing something with my hands. The only reason my wife and I haven't gone to see TTT yet is that she's due to give birth any time now, and definitely doesn't feel like sitting in one position for more than about 20 minutes. I agree that an intermission would be a great thing to bring back to the movie-going experience. Give everyone a 10- or 15-minute break to go out, hit the head, refill their drinks, stretch their legs, whatever. The times my wife and I have gone to the opera, the intermissions were lifesavers.
