I donated a system to RC5, but I have a question...

I downloaded the generic floppy disk setup from the Borg's website (thanks Russ 🙂) and chose to intall the client as a service. I'm using Windows 98 on that system, so how do I tell if it's running or not, and if it's on a dial-up, how does it connect to the internet? Does it connect automatically? I don't know how to start the client up so I can see all these options. A little help please? It'll benefit the team once I get this baby up and cracking.

It's a Celeron 400 @ 500 w/ 83 FSB and 128MB of RAM, so it shouldn't be too bad. I did remember to restart the computer once I installed and I selected ta_seti@hotmail.com as the email address since I'm primarily a SETI@Home person. This computer will be cracking 24/7 too.

<< how do I tell if it's running or not >>

use a program like Taskinfo2000 and that will give you the relevant info.

<< and if it's on a dial-up, how does it connect to the internet? >>

It detects the connection and automatically send and recieves new blocks

instead of using the -install command use the -config command, and it will bring up the config screen
