I don’t like this about conspiring with a foreign government to attack a political rival

An unhinged president indeed.
Is this what happens when he gets his way?
And when no one is left around him that really cares or matters?
Apparently no one around him even cares or has any advise other than WHAT-EVER.

If Trump committed a high crime or misdemeanor, he should be impeached. If it tears the country apart, then it's tearing normal Americans from those who want to see a criminal in office, which is fine with me. I am far more worried about presidents breaking laws with impunity.

Party of law and order and personal responsibility says president admitting on video to breaking the law is nbd.

That party, which arguably hasn't really existed in decades, is gone having been replaced by Trumpism.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing, I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by our press,” Trump said in a July 27, 2016 news conference

An interesting note, if the dates in the reporting are correct he did this the day after Mueller testified to Congress. So basically immediately after coming to the determination that he had gotten away with his collusion with a foreign government to get help in the 2016 election he started trying to collude with another foreign government for help in the 2020 election.

The House doesn't have the legal authority to compel members of the executive branch to reveal the contents of a president's conversation with a foreign leader. If they tried imprisoning people over it they would lose in court.

They do have the power to do so if established law supporting the oversight function is ignored. Certainly matters of Trump's tax and financials relevant to an investigation would fall into that category. The Executive Branch can certainly wait for its turn in court to object.

They do have the authority to enforce the whistleblower law. What its about is irrelevant. IG has already stated the complaint is valid. That's why it goes to Congressional committee. They are authorized to deal with classified material.

I think that when the truth about Trump begins to dawn on people, the most important thing to do is to take all of our liberal pent up frustrated rage and dump our tons of shit on them for being late to the game. This will encourage others to reevaluate their positions. What the fuck happened to us. Certainly nobody who knows can say because nobody can listen. All we know is that somebody else is to blame. Maybe the last generation or the lady with the funny colored skin, or that religious nutcase or atheist over there. I know I had lunch somewhere here so somebody had to have eaten it and it wasn't me. I have ten thousand pounds of cabbage in my freezer and I am going to protect it till my dying day. It's priceless, like my ego.

If a person loves truth enough, I believe they will see through Donald Trump and eventually see through 'both sides'. To evolve in understanding isn't easy. One has to let go of a lot of really valued things.

In the sea there are treasures beyond imagining, but if you seek safety it is on the shore. A Sufi saying

Usually, the vigiliance is for the people in POWER. But, the always grieved perpetual victim Republican party has upended that. You are worried about Biden's child when the current presidents children seem to have much more troubling connections and the ability to actually effect policy. UC, have you called for an investigation into Trump's children yet? If the President thought this was actually an issue why hasn't the FBI and AG who are both appointed by the President investigated this? Does he trust another country or think they are more capable than the people he has appointed who work for Justice and FBI? Of course not. This was never about the truth but about having Ukraine open an investigation so Trump could cite that to say Biden's son was under investigation to distract from his own criminality in the upcoming election.

Do I need to call for stuff? That’s a weird callout / cheap shot. Have you done this? Have you said that? Emperus, have you called for this that and the other? You must be for it then since I can’t find a thread about it.

The death penalty would be a serious deterrent for future Manchurian candidates. You see, these soft rich white boomers aren’t going to risk death in the future if they see one of their own die.

Not a fan of the death penalty but I could make an exception for Trump and a bunch of his sycophants.

Good piece in the Atlantic about the media falling for false equivalency yet again in the wake of Trump’s Ukraine call and the renewed focus it put on the elder Biden and Hunter’s actions.

I dug through old articles from 2016-2018 on the Joe/Hunter fired Ukrainian prosecutor story. Best I can tell, this whole thing was dredged up by the same guy who wrote “Clinton Cash” in order to sell a new book. This story has been around for years and no right wing media outlets have been able to dig up anything incriminating, and Ukraine’s own authorities have said there is no evidence Hunter was involved in anything shady.

What Hunter/Joe are accused of is essentially just 1/100th of what went on during the Bush Administration between Cheney, Halliburton and no-contest bids on Iraq’s reconstruction.

"Trump and the GOP are tearing the country apart"

"Removing Trump will tear it apart even more!"

That makes no sense. Do you ever listen to these thoughts out loud?

FINALLY some media waking up to this fact....

The President of the United States has admitted to colluding with a foreign power in a quid pro quo exchange in order to manipulate American elections.

Just stop and think about that for a moment.

More like: POTUS attacked for trying to fight corruption!

And by having his personal lawyer go over there to pressure the Ukrainian government instead of DOJ or state department officials he saved the taxpayers money!

And he's going to keep on going until he's stopped.
