Now, I understand that the person was no better and was just a troll. He should have been banned and the post removed. It is acting just as childesh for the mods to do what they did. Essentially the mods went down to his level, unfortunate display of power.

I have my right as a human to stand up for the things I believe are wrong. I don't care if you are a cop, the president of the united states or a moderator for the anandtech forums.

You see people voice about how they dislike president Bush or ex-president Clinton, should we not speak out against them when they do wrong? Or is everyone wrong on that? If someone like the president can be questioned, why would an anandtech moderator be immune to such scrutiny?

See, here is the thing. This is a privately owned forum. There is no freedom of speech here. This is not a democracy. No one votes on what actions are acceptable for the mods. You may feel that you have a right to speak out... but in reality... you dont even have the right to post here. You are afforded the privilege of being allowed to post here.

The mods are volunteers. They get no pay, but a lot of crap for the work the do in keeping this board relatively safe and borderline PG-13.

And since no one charges your credit card or extracts blood from you, you are not forced to stay if you find it that bad.

I have stated my opinion and my values, something that many of you would mock, which is fine. But that doesn't in any way take away from the poor taste that the mods displayed. You can argue, gang up on me, hint on the way out, tell me to never come back. But fortunately, my self esteem does not hinge on the acceptance of those in a forum.

I happen to like AT and many of the form users, that goes without saying, else I would not be here. As for the rude comments, you are going to have to try and do better than that. Why would I be offended by someone with an anonymous handle? Get real.
