I am writing this in respect of a friend so do not get confused by my system,
He has an Athlon XP 2700+ on an ASUS A7N8X Delux mb Rev 2 and an fx6800 Leadteck. His memory is a bit crap though it is a noname DDR PC 2700 512Mb and he can not overclock his processor due to memory dumps when the memory freq exceeds the 175Mhz mark.
His 6800 I think is CPU limitted because in all new games like CS Source he gets less than 70fps average in Action
What he is thinking of doing is either to buy a 3200+AMD processor and keep this memory and run it asynchronously or to buy a better memory chip like an OCZ 512 pc 3200 and overclock his current cpu.
He has no money to replace both!
Personally I think the better solution is the CPU since it is cheaper from the memory.
Whith which combination would you think he would have better results?
I am telling him for the CPU upgrade since even his crappy memory he can still run it at 175x2=350Mhz
What would you suggest?
Thanx in advance!!!
