I was invited to a movie with a friend and her friends, I asked who the other people that were going were, and because I did not like them I declined the offer. My friend asked me why i dint want to go with those friends, I told her why and now she is pissed at me because I "insulted" her friends, what shoudl I have done, she asked me why and I told her, I guess I could have lied to her and said I didnt want to barg ein or anything, but she would have told me to come anyway. I dont get what I should have done there. Why do they have to be this way.Or is it me, did I handle it wrong?:|:|:|

If there's one thing I've learned in life... Lying in social situations is completely acceptable and encouraged...

There are a million ways to avoid going out.... "I don't like your friends"... is the worst possible one.

tell her, you can either have a giggly little girl talk time with her friends, or she can get some sausage with you.

Tell her it would be like if she were to come along when you and the guys were hanging out. Like she would really enjoy sitting around talking about the worst spell you have ever produced or what is the hottest outfit Brittany Spears ever wore.

By the same token you don't want to sit around talking about who is going to be whose "bathroom buddy" or which cat has the best arse in your chemistry class. I think she will get the picture.

NEVER say anything bad about your friend's friends (even if they are pscho-hose beasts)! "no good can come of this"

She's probably just upset because she is feeling a buit defensive towards her friends. I don't think you were necessarily wrong to tell her the truth, but expect her to get upset. Explain to her why you feel the way you feel and hopefully she'll come to understand.

I agree. BUT, I'm the type of person who is frank almost all the time. So initially it doesn't sound like you did anything wrong. Just stay true to your feelings, if you didn't like them, then you don't like them! Women tend to have the effect on men that we have done something wrong; that we are too blame first. Sometimes, we have to remember that it can also be the other way around, theyre just as human and possibly more human than we are ;)

well I have tried to explane this all to her, I told her tha this is just what i think of them, and she came back with the response that I dont know them at all and Im judging them before I know them, and I told her I do know them, I have talked to them and know what there like but she still thinks that Im wrogn andI dont know them, so i offered to go do something with her and them but she declined, so now I have tried to be friendly to them and she doesnt want me to be.

<<I sit in a dark room all day. When someone makes a mess they break me out to clean it up, then return me to my cubby hole without so much as a thanks. No, I'm not a vacuum cleaner...I am an IT PROFESSIONAL!>>

Yep, saw that coming. She don't want your charity.

Nothing shocking there. You are in a lose-lose scenario now my friend.

Time to hunker down and let all the dust settle...if she really is your friend she will understand and won't give you grief. Not everyone can like everyone else for crying out loud! You were just fool enough (or brave enough) to lay it on the table for all to see.

Well she knew that I didnt like this group of friends and I have never done anything with them, she just pushed it enough that I told her why I didnt like them. Its not like this is out of know where she knew that I didnt like them.
