I opened up a miniature Mr. Goodbar and it had a maggot crawling on it between the wrapper and the chocolate bar itself. I thank my lucky stars that I looked at it before I put it in my mouth.

Needless to say, we have thrown out all of the rest of the candy in the office.

Was the wrapper cracked/ripped in any way?

Or has a newly evolved insect learned to use its ovipositor to lay eggs in candy bars? That's a scary thought...

The wrapper looked fine. It was a miniature so it was just in the foil wrapper and that's it.

More likely a dermestid/pantry beetle larva than a maggot.

We had some in a box of macaroni & cheese I opened last night. Yuck.

This was about 8 years ago... I went to a friend's house and he had a hershey's bar, I asked if I could eat it & he goes sure but its really old... I don't think nothing much of it until I open it and see about 10 maggots crawling.... WTF, ever since then I never ate a hershey's bar... it was one of the silver packages with brown wrapper over it so it wasn't completely sealed.

You sure it wasn't a meal worm? I've seen those on hershey's kisses before, there was a story wayyyyyyyyy back when the vat got contaminated or something and there were tiny white worms in a few hershey's products (might have been isolated to kisses). Theyre like smaller than a 1/10 of a centimeter right? It was also in the story it was harmless and its okay to eat them.
