I didn't know it was so bad.

It's not that I don't enjoy teaching, I just want to make more money while I'm still young. I'm 34 years old and I'm getting the feeling that time is catching up with me and I don't want to be in my 40's still thinking the same thing. I feel that I am not living up to my potential when other less intelligent people are making double or triple what I make. This bothers me and I want to do something about it but I just can't seem to get myself going. Know what I mean?

true. go back to school, or seriously find a teaching job in a rich area. I know a few high school teachers making 90k+ at areas where the rich reside. . .

Can't leave as I have a 10 year old son here so that is not an option. 90K!!!!! I've never heard of a teacher making that much!

Stay long enough and they cash will start rolling. We just had a teacher retire making $90k in a town w/a population of 3500.

people teach not because of the $, but because they love doing it. if you dont like doing it anymore, then it's obviously time to move on.

how long have you been teaching? if you have 10+ years, you might want to look at private schools in the rich suburbs.

or learn about computers and teach corporate classes. or teach corporate classes on the side, like at night or weekends

What about going becoming an Assistant Principal or something like that? I think they make good money...
