Well I'm a special ed major and I'm doing my Junior Practicum at YALE school for severe behavioral problems. The classroom that I'm in is made up of 5 boys who are about 8 years old. Last week, the teacher got another student who is only 5 yrs old! He was taken out of K-class due to his behavior.

So I didn't see this kid until the end of the day. He comes in and the first thing he says to the one student "Hey nig*er give me my sh*t." I'm like jesus this kid is 5 yrs. old and is talking like this!! :Q

Then he gets his lego's and goes off and plays with the set at this other kids desk. The other kid who is about 8 yrs. old was ready to beat up this kid. He was like "I'll f*ck your sh*t up bitch if you don't get out of my seat." Luckily the Vice Principle was in the room and put the 8 yr old in a arm lock and got him out of the classroom because he might have attacked this 5 year old kid.

Then the teachers aid told the 5 year old to get ready for the bus, and all I heard was.. "I'm not going on that bus b*tch." Well he got dragged out screaming his a** off! Little brat! 😀

I can go on and on about how the kids throw the chairs and tip over the tables but eh... It just amazes me that a 5 yr. old kid knows those curss words and he's allready talking like a thug!

🙁

holy crap, i am definitely moving to montana

i wonder if Ted "Unabomber" Kaczynski's shack is available

"Then he gets his lego's and goes off and plays with the set at this other kids desk."

That made me laugh just because of what he said before that... kids these days...

When my mom taught, she'd tell me similar stories. She taught kindergarten, and had several problem children. Some of them weren't even potty trained.

One kicked the principal, another was caught "going through the motions" with a girl in the bathroom, and another would smear feces on the walls.

Many many of them were proficient in sailor speak.

Sad. Some of these kids just can't help it due to chemical imbalances in their brains. Others get screwed up because of their home environment. With this kid, I'd wager a bit of both... THEN I'd send him to boot camp. 😀

Kids learn from people around them. They watch their parents and mirror them. When you see a "nice" kid, he's simply mirroring what he sees at home. This kid is doing the same. He doesn't have any behavioral problems. Its his parents who have problems. If the kid was the polar opposite from his parents (i.e. if he came from a rich, white family), THEN he would have problems. And even then, they'd be caused by the media or his friends, not his brain.

C'mon they need you! Actually the starting salary for this school is close to $40,000 w/ special ed certification. Without certification then your looking at only $30,000 Not bad, but you have to put up w/ a lot of sh*t!

And.. most of those kids come from Atlantic City and other surrounding sh*tty areas. Those cities aren't too nice, so thats why these kids are in such horrible shape.

They just need a role model that they can look up to.

I had a 8 yr old tell me that he likes 50 cent because he got shot or Jay-Z because he stabbed a person, I think there is something seriously wrong.

🙁

Welcome to the future 😛

Some of the kids at Indian parties I see my brother with cuss a lot but all I make sure it that my brother doesn't do the same and then its fine from my POV. Nothing I can really do to stop them

tec699, just remember that people won't change overnight, that is, if they change at all. The best you can do for them is tell them what you think of it and show what results from being nice.

also an insight into the early years of future felons.

i edited a similar comment out of my first post but, sadly, it's probably true.. our tax dollars will be feeding that kid after he victimizes one of us... the irony.

Exactly.. what gets me is that people don't care. People don't care until that kid reaches adult age and sticks a gun in your face and takes your money or rapes your mother, sister or wife.

Then you will care. People need to show more support and we should all pitch in and help these children, because our society is only going to get worse if we ignore this type of behavior.

i agree that the kids in this situation need help, they didn't ask to be born into such abject poverty or screwed up family/lack of family situations.

i wish there was a way to prevent the situation though instead of just fixing it

Yes, give all your money to them, NOW.

trust me, plenty of people are aware of how these kids are going to grow up. but what is there to be done? you cant talk to these kids, you cant convince them, you cant negotiate anything. the older they get the faster things set. my mom works with these people in a middle school. these include drug users, juvenile crime, etc. they are always talking about how they want to kill the teacher, kill the principle, and a mouthful of derogatory words.

its hard to imagine all the hatred they have. if they are this angered now, what will they be like in 20 years? im not sure everyone understands how hard it is to talk to these guys. what makes it worse is their parents dont care AT ALL either. they've got nothing to lose, they dont feel there is any reason not to cuss you out, and disrespect whoever. sadly, they all feel like they will become the next millionaire by becoming a rapper, a basketball star, a celebrity, or whatnot.

when you think about these guys you might feel really sorry for them- but thats because you have no real experience with them. you really want to help them, but once you find out what they do everyday, punking on people, stealing from 7-11, and threatening teachers on the phone. your mind will change. i personally think the only possible way to rescure these guys from a crime-filled future is maybe military (which oftentimes doesnt accept these types) or something alike and effort from their parents. and then you really just ask yourself, "what can we do?"

The sad truth is this type of behavior is not only ignored it is practically endorsed by society today... seen any music videos lately? All I can do is try to protect and educate my own. I fear the best I can do is teach my children that they should "shoot to kill" because I don't believe it is going to get any better.
