I Didn't Get Screwed Over By Sam's Club!

Even though I despise Wal-Mart (due to their local store sucking so badly and not because of any bandwagon) our Sam's Club is pretty decent despite the occasional glitch. I had a DVD I had purchased from them, and halfway through it would start kicking back to the start of a chapter instead of playing on through the next one. Even if you manually selected the next chapter, it would just do the same thing again for that one, on all the way through the end of the credits.

I still had the wrapper but I couldn't find the receipt, so I took it back figuring I wouldn't need it since I just wanted to exchange for a working copy. Unfortunately, they were out with no plans to get any more in. Their policy states that in the case of returns without receipts, they give you a gift card with that amount on it, which would have been fine as I was going to do some other shopping. I wasn't sure if they would do that or not though, since they are only supposed to do exchanges on defective media that has been opened.

They actually gave me cash back. True, it wasn't all that much in the grand scheme of things, and I spent about ten times what they refunded to me when I checked out. I just thought I would throw out a positive story I had dealing with them, since everyone seems to focus on the negative all of the time. ;)

Halfway through your post, I stopped and reread the topic, thinking you had a typo. I just knew it was going to go bad. What a pleasant surprise.

I have never heard of Sam's Club giving anyone grief on a return.

I bought tires for the spare car there, the sidewalls were actually showing fairly bad cracks. The guy from the tire section looked at the tread, not seeing the sidewalls and asked us if we really thought we wanted new ones. I figure that was pretty good that he was honest about it and didn't just slap new ones on.

I tried to get a tire there, but had no luck. Turns out the size I have is not used on many vehicles, so they don't make many of them anymore.
