I Deriver Chinese Food?

In honor of Gr1mlock's thread, I have a funny story to relate too:
During a business trip, I ordered some Chinese take out. On the way back to my hotel room, another person in the elevator commented that the food smelled really good and said "I didn't know you guys delivered to hotels." When I said that I had to go pick it up myself, he looked kind of embarrassed and mumbled something about not knowing whether I was a delivery boy or not. I didn't know how to react

(Yes, I hurl fireballs)

Hahaha. I could go for some Chinese right now. Hell, I could go for anything right now (I AM STARVING).

When I was in North Carolina, I once had a friendly lady compliment me on my excellent command of the English language. I was tempted to return the compliment.

And I've had both Chinese food and pizza delivered to hotel rooms, so that guy was just a doofus on multiple levels.

I'd deliver, but you're too far away

Can you bring me a Kung Pao chicken dinner combo and an order of pan-fried dumplings? Oh, and I need my laundry picked up too.

LOL. I was "derivering" a pizza to a hotel, and as I was running out the front door with the empty red "derivery" bag over my arm (I was wearing black pants with my white button-down work shirt), a guy tried handing his car keys to me and asked, "valet?"

I told him, "no thanks, I'm just leaving!," as I ran past him and jumped in my car.

I wasn't mad, just taken aback and later thought it was funny! Plus, Confucius says "Peace, dude!"

I usually respond to racism with insulting humor.. Like maybe you should have said that you usually don't deliver to hotels but the whores and pimps that stay in the place tip very well..

Couldn't the guy be just mistaken that he was dressed casually and might be delivering the food? Should I get all pissed off and such when people walk up to me in a department store or bar and ask me where the bathrooms or other items are and think I work there?

Don't jump to so many conclusions.

I'm not saying I would have done it, because I've never been in a situation like that. But it seems extremely offensive to me.

You see a person of asian descent carrying chinese food. Why get pissed at someone for a simple mistake? This really has nothing to do with grimlocks thread where the children were just being brazen.

I can't name how many times I've been in a store and asked if I work there.
I've been in a suit, and other times in sandals.
Do I look like a department store clerk?

Same thing with me when some guy tried handing me his car keys at the hotel. So I looked like a valet to him, but, well, who cares?

Hey, if someone wants to give you a free car, who are you to refuse?

Yeah, but I already had a car, and I wouldn't have had time to get a ride to pick it up before the real valets went and parked it somewhere where I probably couldn't find it. And then I would have had to tip them. ;)
