I dented my car. Now what?

I dented my car against my fence. It's about a 2-inch indentation on my rear bumper. Should I call my car insurance company about this? I've never filed a claim before. I'm assuming that I would need a repair estimate first to see if the repair cost is over my deductable, right?

ehh, it's just the bumper. they're made for taking dents.

Make sure you check and see what turning it in to the insurance will do to your rates. It might be cheaper in the long run to just pay for it out of pocket.

A small dent is not in any way worth filing a claim. Even somehow it is more than your deductible, your rates will go up.

1) your deductible will most likely be more than the cost of the repair
2) your insurance rates will go up everytime you make a claim on these small things. One claim probably won't make much of a difference, but some people get in that habbit, and file like 10 small claims in a few years span, and then their rates start skyrocketting.

ADD:
3) it's just a small dent in the bumper, get over it, it doesn't affect the drivability or safety of the vehicle.

Just pop it out yourself. Either that or wait for summer to come and it'll pop right out. Ofcourse this depends on how the dent looks. Any pics?

don't claim a freakin dent on your bumper unless you want your insurance to screw you for 5 or 6 more years.

Dont even call to ask them, same as with HomeOwners Ins, it will go on record and used to ^$.
If you want to fix, get a new cover from dealer, or salvage yard.
If its minor/merely slight cometic, live with it. Wait till some idjut runs into joo.
