What did you put under the motherboard? I would assume that coming in contact with the aluminum pan would short something out on the bottom

I just screwed in the regular metal motherboard posts that you use when placing it into a case.
 
Reminds me of the guy who cooked eggs on his Athlon XP 1500+ and posted about it on a computer message board a few years back.
