I cut the ISH out of my finger on Friday night

I was watching a movie w/my GF and her little brother at her house and I was drinking a coke in a glass cup. Well I grabbed the glass (it was about half full) and squeezed it a little bit to get a firm grip on it (since it was wet from condensation on the outside) and it just broke in my hands!

I cut my index finger pretty deep and my middle finger got sliced up too. I didn't get stitches or anything. It really hurt when I woke up in the morning and Saturday whenever I would stretch my finger backwards it would hurt like hell.

Well today the cut is healing, but at the first joint near the tip of my index finger, on the palm side of my finger, it feels kind of numb, like my finger is asleep in that area. So I think I severed a nerve because the cut was pretty deep.

Wierd ass way to get a cut finger. anyone else have any wierd stories like this?

Definitely get it checked out. My father had a bad cut, and it ended getting very stiff and infected. Had to get major surgery done on his hand.

This happened when I was a waiter.

I was a big time slacker when I was a waiter, but at one point we had this nazi front manager who had to make sure everything was *perfect*. Anyways, we used to have to band the salt and pepper shakers together to level the contents in them out, and if any light would shine through the top would you would like at the sides of the shaker you would have to refill it.

Well, like I said I was and always will be a slacker, and one night she got on me about not doing this stupid a$$ thing to every shaker in your section. I got so mad that I rammed two salt shakers together and they exploded in my hands. Shards of glass went into my left hand, SALTY GLASS!!!!! I immediately started running to the nearest sink and stayed there for like 5 minutes while cussin' the whole time and pickin shards out of my hand. The crap hurt really bad and made some pretty deep gashes, last time I will ever do that 😉

lol thats funny, cause her little brother was like "thats what happens when you are a muscle head." i'm not even huge or anything, just in shape and cut.

i worked out yesterday w/bandaids on my fingers and it was fine, it didnt bother the slightest, so i REALLY doubt anything is severely wrong with them. they look to be healing fine.

and its not like its asleep, it feels like when you are at the dentist and your mouth is starting to recover from the novacaine.

You're already back from Aruba? Is that the same gf you shared in the old pic? If so, she looks very different. Your pics are a little blurry though.

Anyway, I sustained a deep cut on one of my fingers when I was a kid. Thanks to a kitchen knife which I had tried using to find an item that dropped into a chair. I could see my meat. 😱 LOL! Anyway, the wound did eventually heal and the scar is not immediately visible, though it has the shape of a sharp object (looking like a knife).

yea thats the same GF as before. And if they look blurry to you, then maybe you have auto-resizing on in your browser, because they don't look blurry here or anywhere else at all. we were there from the 17th to the 21st, so it was a short 5 day trip, but was SSSSOOO worth it.

It was on the last day of biochem lab for the term, and it was during the final repetition of an experiment we were doing. For this experiment, we were transferring a lot of materials from test tubes using glass pipettes, and we had to use a fresh set of pipettes for each repetition.

Remember how they always tell you to hold the glass pipette near the end while attaching a bulb to it...well I forgot to, and the pipette broke in my hands while I was putting the bulb on.

I was immediately like "whoops", and feeling a little embarrassed, but a few seconds later my lab partner mentions I was bleeding. I looked at my right hand forefinger, and I had blood coming out near the base where it attaches to my palm.

It turns out the broken glass pipette cut it from side to side, almost a half-inch deep. Had to walk over to student health services to get it stitched up right away.

The good news is that it didn't do any damage to my muscles or nerves in my hands; all I have left is a faint scar.
