Hey guys,

I just created a website - for the first time. Using Microsoft Live, I made a very rudimentary personal website and Im very excited about it.

A question for all you experts: How can I get google or yahoo to index my pages more often? For example, if I type my name in google, it now finds my webpage as first selection. However, this took a few days.

Is there a way to notify google/yahoo that a page has been created on my site so that its searchable right away? Since, I plan to put blogs on my site, it will be kind of pointless if its only findable 2 days later.

I appreciate ya'lls help.

Well, it takes a while to get noticed. The best thing that you can do is to create compelling content that others will link to. For other tips, you might want to Google "search engine optimization" or SEO. Also, sign up for Google's Webmaster Tools and submit a sitemap. It took me awhile to find an easy way to create the sitemap, but I eventually found SitemapsPal.

I hope that helps.
