Ok, one of my friends bought a 500 classic athlon with a voodoo 3 3000 when that was pretty much the best thing out. He waved that over me and my friends' heads because we still had pentium mmx's and such at the time. Since then, me and one other friend have passed him with our computers. One has gotten a 750 athlon with a geforce 2 mx and i of course had to one up the other guy and got an 800 t'bird and a geforce 2 GTS. Now of course, i remembered this guy waving his 500 athlon over my head so now i did it to him. Really ribbed him at lan parties. I guess that got to him, he's decided to build a new system. I spent $1500 on my system with monitor. He's blowing $2500 on his system and he's keeping the monitor, the modem, the sound card and the NIC. Because he's cozy with a distrubutor for a tech company he can get some hard to find parts.

And here's the real kicker, he claims that this guy can get him a kryotech case for a T'bird. I won't believe it till i see it because i've looked around and nobody is selling them yet. If he does have that refridgerated case he'll be able to hit 1600 mhz which is double my clock speed. I think i've been trounced. I probaly should call it quits but i'll see if there is anything that i can justify upgrading after the summer... I may have one more go at this...
