K-20 Body.... 547.23 after all is said and done. I thought long and hard about K-20 vs K-7. K-7 offers largely features. Faster AF, better WB, 720p mode + 16:9 mode (1536x1024 i think?) , lots of nice digital filters, electronic level, cold proof weather seals , magnesium body, sleekier appearance + better hand grip (yup yup I agree it is better...and the newgrip is much improved over the old BG-2), faster shutter (gives that 1/8000), auto rotate the LCD, live view that doesn't suck shit, MOAR FPS, HDR Mode, 100% VF (imo I'd rather have 100% .92), built in AF light for wide lenses, auto distortion, auto CA correction, etc etc etc etc.
But I can't say that right now, given my situation, its worth over double the cost (especially at the cost I got the K-20 body).

Image IQ is essentially the same....and that ultimately what counts.

I will say had my 100D flash mount not broken (totally my fault lol), then this would not be an issue...I would have waited for the K7 to hit about 1k.

But at this point I suppose I'll skip out and see what happens over the next 3 years....and enjoy my K20D! The K100D still makes for a great availible light camera, but I find myself using my flashgun too often. Now I think when I want to look serious I'll put a tele on the 100D and a walk around on the K20....that'll make people think I'm pro ;)

I dunno, construction counts for a lot IMO. But yeah, at double what you paid, it's not entirely worth if if you don't absolutely need it. I'd argue the live view sucks still on the k7, and on most SLR's =)

Agreed that's one of the main reasons I bumped up from the XSi to the 50D. More comfortable and obviously much better construction. But price is king sometimes and we all have to bow down to it.

Oh construction matters a lot, but I'm not crazy enough to compare a K20 in built quality to an XSI :p My K100D is more similar to an XSI in built quality, and the K20 is built much better. That K-7 is something special when it comes to construction at its price point ;)

IMO, outside of EVIL, Sony is the only one that has an interesting Live View. But I find that Live View is really only useful for macro style work or certain situations on a tripod (composing a landscape shot...and if its a K-7 you can rotate or shift the sensor to preform those last micro adjustments on your shot x_x lol how wonderful).

Lastly, I really wanted video, and although I enjoyed the implementation that I played with using the K-7, I know its going to make some big leaps over the next 3 years.

Either way I'm happy...for 550 I got a steal. A body that feels incredibly solid, is fullly weather sealed, lets me tweak the colors on the VGA so things look more accurate, lets me make micro adjustments to any lenses that I may need, and will worth wirelessly with my flashgun, and has most everything acessible through a button or dial....no more menu diving (Which never really bothered me in the first place, but its nice to just hit a button and have it go!).

Now I'm trying to decide what should be my first shot lol.

You never seem to be satisfied lol. Maybe you should just get the top of the line from C N S P O (lazy lol) and use whatever satisfies your desire at the moment lol

Everything sucks, so the solution is to get everything? ;)

If I had the cash I would totally buy and try all these different systems and bodies and lenses.
