I could use some advice for a job interview

I'm wondering what you recomend I should do. Should I go in there and stay really calm and focused? or should I try to be upbeat and emphasize how energetic and motivated I am? Do you have any secrets you want to share? Any advice would be helpful because I'd like to apply for a job that I really want, but don't want to mess it up.

It depends a little on the job/company, but I would say be enthusiastic but not overboard. Look like you have your act together. Dress nicely and make sure you don't do any weird body language. Don't act desperate, but learn a few things about he company that will allow you to talk intelligently about it and how you will fit in there.

I had a job interview a few months ago and went in with a big smile. Said, "It's a pleasure to meet you" to everybody and it worked. Just make sure you have prepared your answers for questions like, "What are your weaknesses?" and "Why do you want to work for our company?" And get lots of sleep before the interview. gl

Just be yourself. The job interview process is an opportunity for both you and the interviewers to see whether you guys can work together. Whether you're normally calm and focused... or energetic and hyper, just be yourself. It'd suck to find out a couple months down the road that you just can't get along with the people you're working with...

Oh, and try not to be too nervous. In fact, the interviewer could be just as nervous (if not more) than you. I had to take my turn interviewing someone a month ago and MAN was I sweating. I had another co-worker change spots with me so I'd have an extra 30 minutes to prepare the questions. 🙂

Whatever you do, remember to wear pants... for some reason all the interviewers I've had seem to care about that...

Be yourself, and don't ever ask the interviewer if he is gay. I did once, because he kept looking me up and down, and although I'm not gay, I'm extremely good looking to both sexes. I once had a black guy hit on me, then his lady friend was like, "No suga, he wants me". Very funny stuff.

So anyways, just be yourself and ask lots of questions like you're interested. And DON'T EVERY accept an offer when they first give it to you. Tell them, I appreciate the offer, but I'd like to discuss it with my family (act like a family man, no matter what).
