Driving home from the movies, some SUV got a little too close with a misaligned headlight. I slowed to about 25 (from 45) and he just got closer, apparently not getting the point. Thankfully the next two traffic lights were green when I got to them. We turned left onto a 6 lane road and I was on the right lane and he was on the left. I got over to the left and flashed my high beams at him like an idiot. Then he got over on the right and went into a neighborhood. My turn was the next one so I turned right onto that road. So I'm driving along behind a car at the speed limit, 40, when I see the truck come out of a side road. I was scared for my life. I passed the car and got up to 85, hoping for police to save me from being murdered by the guy in the SUV with the misaligned headlight. He actually accelerated with me for a little while then just stopped. I was still afraid. :(


Moral lesson: ignore people with misaligned headlights that blind you!

Wow.. I've had at least 3 brushes with death since I came back to Houston.
1) the drunk rednecks on the 4 wheelers
2) the flaming wreckage that I took pics of (no thread yet because I left my USB cable in Austin and the lines in Best Buy are too long)

Let's see what happens next!

Edit: Also the drunk reversing into the supermarket. 4 cars and a fireworks stand could have been her next target.

Houston driver sucks. I was there for the holiday and on the 25th, 59 was like a parking lot, so some people were driving back the entrance ramp to get off the hwy. Like, they would get on the hwy, decided it wasn't a good idea, do a 180 to get back to the feeder road. Idiots.

edit: make that a 180 turn. :eek:

You call that a brush with death in a car?

My wife told me about a patient she took care of in the hosiptal last weekend.

He was driving a small car, and a Lincoln Navigator ran him of the road. Eyewittnesses confirmed the guy's story that the driver pulled up on his left side, and sideswiped him so hard it broke his left arm. He crashed into a tree on the side of the road and is still in the hospital.

Someone got the Lincoln's license plate number, and it came back stolen. Police were still looking for it a few days ago.

Yes ATOTr's, there are people out there in stolen SUV's who think it's funny to run small cars off the road! :disgust:

No joke. I see things like this all the time here on Long Island. Makes me think people have their high beams on all the time when its really badly aligned headlights.

a taxi driver once tailgated my wife and i in Korea once. he kept following me, i was going into and obscure neighborhood and he kept following me, so i got out of the car, rushed him and beat the crap out of him.

btw, i didn't just beat up an innocent guy cause he was running at me too. so i just pounded the sh1t out of him. but i ended up bleeding, :(. my knuckles bled. :(

oh ya, it all started cause he cut me off and i honked at him.

edit

i also forgot to mention, my wife was 7 months pregnant at the time and i really didn't feel like dealing w/ a jerkoff who was gonna tail gate me just because i honked at him for CUTTING me off.

Well it was at night so I don't think he could tell what car it was. Mine is the only 240sx for miles though.
