My friend has a HP Vectra Series 500 which is 5 years old. I have compressed his drive to get more disk space now he has a multitude of problems. I attempted to uncompressed but Diskspace 3 stops at 3% in the middle of the uncompress operation. Will not budge.
Since I can't get around it we have decided to format hard drive. Before I do this I wish to know if I can recover the software that HP had pre-install at the time time of production. I have a Product Recovery CD-ROM. It does not tell me if software will be recovered if I format the drive.
