The only problem is to figure out how to get the hardware unlocked, this can be done by the firmware update method or unlock it at the hardware level with special tools in the safe mode. Or try all the password you know or you think you used and that's free, but may cost you couple hours or maybe days.

how exactly could I use the firmware update,I don't know where to find firmware for my drive
and what special tools are you talking about in safe mode
the drive is a 2.5" seagate momentus st910021as

... or something personal like, <whatever>.

if it's the latter, my guess is you'll eventually remember it.
