I present have a "P2-400" mhz and I am looking for something with a little more "oomph" in it. I have about 200 in budget. I was thinking of going the ECS route with the Fry's Deal, not sure how good the mobo is though.

I present have a P2-400 on a Iwill DB100mobo, 256MB (PC100 (not sure if its 133)), DVD, 2x CDRW, 40 + 10 GB hdd. Networkcard , SB Live Value, Modem, and a additional fan in the slots (its a slot fan). I have a GeForce 32MB DDR (the original GeForce)

I need atleast 5 PCI slots (one will be free and taken away for the slot cooler). While I was considering taking out the modem, I will still would like to keep it.

What would be the easiest way to upgrade. Assuming my memory is PC100 and not PC133 (I dont remember I have to check the machine).
I plan to upgrade the case if possible. My case is crowded and quite a bit small on the inside. Plus its a b*tch to open and do anything on it.

oh I forgot I was thinking of keeping the memory as SDRAM and just getting a Mobo + CPU and maybe a new case..

will the ECS work out if I get it.. I know its a Duron 1000, but will it work with PC100 (just in case my memory is PC100 and not PC133).

ECS K7S5A willl use pc100 ram with a Duron 1ghz no problem.

Cheap & fast upgrade. :D

And if later you want to upgrade to a 2000+ with DDR this board will let you do that too.

For me it's been extemely reliable & stable,no more via for me.

The most important thing with this board is a high quality power supply.
