so i finally caught a wild raccoon that's been slipping in my barn. caught him with a live trap now what do i do him? toast him or set him free ?

How about a flavorful dish, maybe blackened racoon? If not, I would suggest coating him with gasoline, placing him (still in the trap) down on the ground, making a "ring of fire" of sorts surrounding him, and then let him loose. See what he does.

I think you should either contact the human society and have them come and get the raccoon, or set it free far away from yours or any other houses.

Sawdust, look up &quot;wildlife rescue&quot; they might have a local chapter in your area. They usualy have a place where they release wild (non predatory) animals that is inside a no hunting private land. Driving it to them or driving it to a far away wild area and releasing it yourself might take a bit of effort, but you'll feel better for it.
