I just traded someone for ATI 128 all in wonder pro.

I setup with the latest version of drivers and software along with fresh install of operating system.

It playes all the movies except Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. I got the movie from Best Buy, so it's region 1.

I don't understand.. I can use WinDVD or PowerDVD and it works fine, but the latest ATI player does not play the one movie..(the older version played).

Anyone know how to fix this?

Do you really need to use the ATI player? If it's not going to play it, but others will, then there's a problem with the ATI player. Play with the settings a bit... (I'm not familiar with it) but just use one of the other programs.

Yeah, there's bug with the latest ATI Player. It only displays a black screen on my setup. But I heard that you can play it -- some guy posted the instructions on usenet. I forget the exact steps but it's something like hit stop, goto the root menu, then hit play. Or something like that. I'll play around with my system and if I figure it out, I'll post the instructions here.

It's a beautiful movie! I hope you like it. :)

I have a radeon and when I finally got the ATI player to work, it didn't look as good nor did it ran as smoothly as PowerDVD 3.0.

If I use the ATI DVD player, the movies play flawlessly.. a whole lot better than win dvd 2000 and Power DVD 3.0... This is in my P2 400 machines..

Okay, I figured out a way to get the ATI Player to play it. Start up the player. It should start but just display a black screen. Right click to bring up the pop-up menu. Bring up the "Play at specific part" menu.

You should get a dialog box. Set it so that it will play Title 2 and Chapter 1 (there might be other ways of getting it to play). Press okay.

It should start playing a trailer for the movie. After that it will display the menu and from there you can play the movie. :)

Same with me. I heard that's because the ATI player is the only one that uses all the features of the ATI Rage128 (IDCT and motion compensation). For me it's the best player to use with ATI cards.
