[RANT]Why can't I get good car service anywhere? I take the car in for an alignment and tell them the steering wheel is to the right. I ask the guy to make sure they re-align it. He says no problem. I get in the car and nope, they didn't touch the wheel. Why the hell did I just pay them $50. :|

Next, I have a windshield on order from some glass company that my insurance said to use. The window got smacked with a chunk of rock in the middle of April and its been a month and no window yet. Just called them again and they said they are still waiting for the window to come in. I tell them its been a month and I hear silence on the other end. A few seconds later she goes, maybe I should call the dealer where they ordered the window from to see if everything is okay. Da! :|:|

Seriously, that sucks man. I'd get on the alignment place's ass about the crap job they did then chew your insurance place out and ask for a different place to order from.

Yep, the insurance company will get a call. I just don't want to piss off the guys before they install the windshield. I have heard horror stories about screwed up installations.

The alignment was done at Sears. I just hate the thought of going back there and waiting again. It took the guy an hour to do the alignment.

Who in the hell gets their car worked on at sears?!!?!? I'd rather let my 17 year old sister attempt a tire alignment before i let some joe-blow crook from Sears work on my car.

yeah, definately yell at them AFTER they install your winshield. The key word is AFTER

I bought my tires from them, after price matching tirerack.com, so I get free rotating and balancing. I have had good luck with them until now. Sears is good for basic stuff like tires and batteries but that's about as much as I would let them do to my car. I cringe at the thought of using them for suspencion work or brakes.

Why is everyone knocking Sears for alignments? Where else do people go for their alignments? Don't say the dealer because VW dealers are bigger crooks than anyone. The dealer is actually the one that put the wheel on crooked three times in a row. I gave up trying to get them to do it and went to Sears. Sears just forgot to do the wheel but did everything else just fine.
