Highpoint and win2k don't mix well. You should fire up an email to Abit, or even better, to Highpoint.

I had a similar problem with NT4 and spent many hours trying to make it work; I finally had to connect the HD to one of the standard IDE ports, install NT, once everything was up and running (SP6, etc) added the drivers for the hp370, moved the drive back to the hp370 controller, and it's been fine since then. The documentation is contradictory, since the readme file for the drivers indicated that NT had to be installed prior to installing the drivers for the hp370, but the KT7 manual indicates to press F6, etc.

I hope this helps.

Insane, did ya try the install without the MX300. If this is like the sblive it takes 2 IRQ's which may be an issue for the highpoint.

#1 ) Do NOT use the drivers that came with the board... the only one's I got to work were the latest ones from Highpoint's website

#2 ) I did as previously mentioned, setup the OS on the regular controller, installed drivers, then moved the plugs.
