EDIT: I think I found it. The stupid laptop thinks it's on battery even though it's plugged in. This may be because *I* am stupid enough to buy a non-OEM laptop charger that doesn't quite work as it should

I have an HP laptop. I've gone through all power management settings and told it when plugged in to not sleep, turn off hard disk, etc. freaking everything.
Didn't work.
So I then created a batch file that does a "dir c:\" I have this set to run via task manager every 14 minutes. I also have in power management to enable wake up tasks. In task manager I also set it to force the thing awake (edit: found this task doesn't run anyway...)
Still doesn't work.
I have a camera regularly FTPing to this machine and when the machine is asleep FTP can delay, thus making it worthless, especially since this thing's wireless lan also goes to sleep.
Need this damn thing to never sleep! Thanks!
