Uhhh..

Like the title says. I got the Chaintech "GT21", which is a GF4 Ti4200. It comes prepackaged with a tweaking utility which no one but me seems to have a problem with - it's called TurboGFX.

I'm running Windows XP Corporate, Athlon 1800+, 512 MB Crucial, Epox 8kha+, and a Western Digital 120GB 7200rpm(w/ 8mb cache).

Whenever I run the program, it just quits out within half a second.. I see its icon (looks like a prism with light going in on one side and a rainbow coming out on the other) flash in the system tray for half a second as well.. If i look at Task Manager, I can see it go by on the list of processes for the briefest of moments, as long as I am clicking the shortcut for TurboGFX like it was the A button for some 8-Bit Nintendo game (really really fast).

Last night I broke down and restored my ghost image of the fresh install of XP.. then tried installing the Detonators from the CD (28.32), and TurboGFX. that's it. Pulled all the other unnecessary hardware out of system (sound card+ NIC). THen tried upgrading to 29.42 Detonators. Still no luck.

The only time I've seen the program running for more than half a second was when XP was loading, since I had set Turbo GFX to auto-load on windows startup - but the clock speeds seemed all wrong, and as I was tooling with it, it quit out again.

Help!! What could make a program so happy to quit, even on a fresh install? :(
