Ever since I installed my Linksys Cable/DSL router I can't recieve any files from ICQ!

Help me out, maybe it's an ICQ problem.. Though I am pretty sure it was working when before I put this router in :)

Sounds like you might need to do some port forwarding. I'm not sure what one it is...maybe someone else knows?

ICQ file transfers won't work unless you stick your machine outside the firewall (Advanced Tab, DMZ host, enter your IP here)... if you have the latest firmware (1.34 I believe) you can also try forwarding a range of ports taht ICQ uses (I think it's 20,000-22,000 or something in that range) Also make sure that under the Filters tab that Block WAN request is disabled...

hmm. are you talking about sending between machines that are on the same network, or just any computer on your network, not being able to send to any other computer on the net?

lets try to narrow things down, before assuming things here guys..

router help

you can set the dmx host to ex-192.168.1.[100] then set port forwarding to service port 1-1000etc ipaddress-192.168.1.[100]

ICQ has a "are you behind a firewall" in installation, you might try reinstalling it. I have a router and can send file thru ICQ the only times I have experienced troubles doing so is when both machines are behind firewalls.

In your ICQ go to Preferences -> Connections. Under Server, click on Using Firewall, Not using proxy. Under User, click on Not using proxy, use the following TCP listen port for incoming event. Put from: 20000 to: 20019 for your 1st computer, 20020 to 20039 for your 2nd computer, 20040 to 20059 for your 3rd computer, etc. etc.

now go to your linksys and forward port ranges to each computer.
example:
20000 to 20019 to 192.168.1.101
20020 to 20039 to 192.168.1.102
20040 to 20059 to 192.168.1.103
etc. etc.

reconnect icq.
