I cant reboot in XP

OK, here is my situation. I have windows xp corp 2600. I have everything installed fine and working. But my only problem (so far) is that when I tell my computer to reboot, it closes windows and just sits with a black screen with no cursor:|. When I press the reboot button, my computer shuts down. When I tell it to shutdown, it shuts off fine and turns off my computer. How can I fix this problem and is annoying me very very much??
