I can't print anything..

so for the last week or so i haven't been able to use my hp deskjet 950C, when i click print, i get an error message immediately about the document not being able to print..so i borrow my mom's cannon printer, use a completely different data cable, and i get the same error message...so does that narrow it down to a problem with the printer port on the mobo?
 
try the usb connection.
Dunno if you've done anything to the computer lately but you might look into control panel>system>hardware >device manager and see if you see anything wrong with the printer ports.
 
this is odd....under ports the only thing that shows up are my two com ports, no lpt port at all.......and recently I upgraded to the most recent BIOS for my Asus a8v deluxe....I wish I could remember if I did that before or after my printer stopped working
 
When you upgraded the BIOS it was possible that it went to default turning of the USB Ports so check it out...
