I can't Play Media files !!!!!

Hii everyone, i bought this MSI K8N neo 2 plat with an AMD 64 3000+ 3 days ago, everything's working Well ( Firefox, games, office applications) except for media Files, whenever I run a Video File CPU usage JUMPS to 99 % and the PC slowsssss to Death, I can't think of the problem since everything else works fine

BTW: I tried several Media players, VLC, WMA, Winamp, Jetaudio.... the result is the SAme. What do you think ?

Update Direct X, update your video card drivers.

I'm sorry i thought it was a Motherboard probblem, anyway move the topic if you can, I made more tests and in fact only .WMV extension cause the problem, what can it be, I updated the DirectX

I had the same problem once. Quite probably, if you notice, this problem only occurs when you use the Windows Media Player. Download another media player (Media Player classic is one of the best), and the problem would go away for good. Also, the problem with the Windows Media player went away once I finished all the Windows Updates.
