I can't play CS!!! HELP!

I'm trying to play CS. But either I don't have the maps or it says "Your .dll [cl_dlls\client.dll] differs from the server"

Whats this mean? How can I fix it? Please help me!! 😱

Re-install?! Ug, ok I guess. But then I have to download the 100 meg CS!

You have an older (or possibly a newer) version of CS than that of the server you are trying to connect to.

Vist the Counter-strike homepage and download the latest patch.

no no no, i got this before

i dunno if it was my custom spray, or what, but i deleted my spray and it worked.

second time i got it i had no custom spray, and yeah, was forced to reinstall.

try deleting the file in error and see if CS makes a new one.

No I didn't delete now that I come to think of it. But I think its v1.0. Isn't there a version 1.1 out? I think I just downloaded that. But didn't seem to work 🙁 Where do I install these patches exactly? Plz don't just say my Half-Life directory 😉 I have Half-Life and Opposing Force. Do I install the CS mod to just my Half-Life directory? Or where to exactly? I'm confused 😱

are you using a &quot;no-cd&quot; crack if so maybe the version of the .exe file is off

No, I'm not using a No CD crack. 🙁 I just uninstalled HF, then reinstalled it. Downloaded CS v1.1. Restarted my comp. Then when I click on the Counter-Striker shortcut it takes me to reglar Half-Life. The first time I did I installed CS, when I clicked on the shortcut it took me straight to Counter-Striker. What did I mess up this time?

Delete your C:\SIERRA and/or cstrike directory
Reinstall Half-Life and Counter-Strike


Problem solved.

I did that, and now seems CS isn't there. 🙁 I installed it, but when I launch the CS through the CS shortcut. It takes me to Half-life.
