I cant install Directx 9.0c not good (GOT IT WORKING)

OK so here is the problem first of all i installd direct x 9.0c ripped from sp2 then i installed sp2
but then i removed the reg entery in current user microsoft direct x in the windows reg and del direcx folder so i can reinstall 9.0c when it was out but i cant then i run a program to uninstall direct x and get it back to 8.1 then i still cant install 9.0c but i did install 9.0b so now i still cant install 9.0 c this is what i get This the thing is it never installs dx 9.0c what can do this ?

I finaly got it working
I reinstalled windows xp sp2 and it is fine now

Heh, glad you got it working. I just had a general question though. I installed dx 9c leaked when I had SP1 or SP2 beta ( can't remember), I upgraded to the final SP2 ofcourse, and tried installing DX9c final, but it just gave me the same screen. Saying that it had already installed. I was just wondering if anyone knows that with the earlier leaked DX9c and then SP2 installed, do I have the latest DX files? It says my DirectX version is 4.09.0000.0904 in dxdiag. Thanks

Yea, I experienced the same thing. Reverted backwards for 9.0b ( to try and finx some software incompatability issues ) and decided to hell with it. When I went to pit back 9.0c, I got the same problem you did.

The only way I could get back 9.0c was to uninstall and reinstall the entire XP SP2. Not the most elegant way to get directX back, but functional.

Id say that Microsoft has a few minor issues with the 9.0c installer
