I CANT GO INTO http://192.168.1.1 HELP!!!

I want to make edonkey2000/overnet/warcraft3 work.

To do that I have to go into my router to change the port forwarding and stuff. I have a Linksys Wireless Router WRT54G (802.11g).

I used to be able to go in it, but now it won't let me. Whats the problem?

cause it's the wrong address, go to 192.168.0.1 that will work and when it ask for a sign in type in admin and it will take you to your router settings.

Ummm...no. The address is indeed 1.1
try leaving the username blank and type admin in the password space. Unless you have changed the default settings, that should get you in. You should change the default settings ASAP though.

you running on wireless without WEP? even still, wep can be cracked easily.

maybe someone changed ur login info?

if the above doesn't work. try hard reset the router. Dlink has this feature and it can reset back to default password. I'm not sure if Linksys does the same.

good luck

Make sure that you are putting the "http://" in front of the IP address. I've had quirky problems like that before. If that still doesn't work, you can easily find the IP of the router. Assuming you're using either WinXP or Win2k, from a command prompt, type ipconfig. The default gateway listed should be the address of the router. If you still can't login to the router, you'll need to reset it to the default settings. After you hard reset your router (hold down the reset button for 30 seconds with the power on), you should be able to get back in. The default IP address is 192.168.1.1 and the default user name AND password are admin. Once you are able to login, change the password, change any other settings you need to function properly, and have at it. Good luck.

Open up a command prompt, and type "ipconfig". The address that you should type into your browser is the "Default Gateway" address. This isn't always 192.168.1.1, for me it is 192.168.123.254 (SMC Barricade Router).

I had to set my IP to 192.168.1.X for me to be able to log onto my router at 192.168.1.1 for some reason, i couldnt go into it on 192.168.0.X.

I suggest changing the device address to 192.168.0.1, worked for me.

Get a pen or something and push the reset button on the front of the router, even if someone cracked your WEP and changed the password, this will reset all your settings back to default. Then do whatever you need to do, i have the exact same router and ive never had that problem though.

What he said. We still don't know why you can't access the router (does it reject your password? does it not connect? etc), but if the problem is due to trying to access the wrong address, ipconfig will probably tell you the right address.
