I cant get Windows Updates!!!

Everytime i try to download a update i get...The following updates were not installed : Update for Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) 2.0 and WinHTTP 5.1 (KB842773)
i turned off firewall and still i cant get it to work...any one have any suggestions...i really need to update my windows!

Bits, (Background inteeligent services), and the other 1, I am sure are services that you have turned off, or have set to manual.
Control panel/ administrative tools/ component services/ local services, and then look for them there.
Right click the service and select properties/ then set to Auto. Should be in good shape then.

I had the same issue. I just clicked refresh in my browser and the second time it worked. Failing that or a reboot just d/l the winxp sp2 exe from MS. it will install all that and SP2 although it is a bigger d/l
