I can't get win7 to install

booting from the dvd it says windows is starting up then it freezes right when the four colors that make up the windows logo appear.

have you run any hardware diagnostics yet? HD, ram, cpu?

make sure you're not overclocked either.. try putting everything back to stock defaults.

I haven't checked out the diagnostics yet can you reccomend some freeware?
The PC is running WinXP just fine
It is not OCed

The motherboard is an ASUS M3A78-EM.
The MB has a few issues. The ethernet on the board went bad so I put in an ethernet card.
The PC must be cold booted otherwise it will keep restarting before windows begins to load.

Find em, fix em if possible. If not move on and get a new mobo.
