my pc is as follow:
amd athlon xp 2400+
soltek 75FRN-L nforce2 that support 333 fsb
kingston pc2100 256mb ddr ram X2
sapphire radeon 9800pro (changed from fx5200)
creative audigy DE (changed from soundblaster live!)
win xp sp2
directx 9.0c

whenever i play any directx game it crashes and jump back to windows. for stable running i hav to set the FSB from 133 to 100.. meaning to say i underclock my cpu from 2ghz to 1.5ghz and become a xp1800+!! the ram can, however, run at 133mhz or 100mhz. i tried changing the multipler to compensate the losses but it doesnt work, games still crashes. can someone pls tell me what is the problem?

ps i've tried reinstall windows, changed my video card and soundcard and the problem still persist! 🙁

Check the CPU voltage, It shoul be normally 1.65Volts. Also check the temperature levels. Check if the heatsink is corectly installed, it maybe overheating or low CPU voltage. Check and tell us.

voltage is correct. temperature maybe a little high at 50 degree
but even if i set it to 100 or 133 FSB these 2 values are the same. but it just refuse to run at 133 FSB

What he said ^

Is that 50C at idle or load? if it's idle then it's going to get very hot under load.

Having a game kick back to the desktop is usually ram issue in my experiance. You might want to try one stick at a time and in different slots or different ram if you have it.

Good Luck

man i solved the problem already😀
i tried to lower the voltage to 1.6v and it work perfectly fine now
i wonder if the reading is correct though... since my processor ought to run at higher voltage

anyway thanx for the advices
