Okay, I've tried really hard to get rid of the god damn windows messenger, but when it is gone, windows messenging pops up and says my windows messenger is out of date! This message comes every time I log on! I've tried blocking .net staff, but it won't help! Anyone?

Turning off or blocking the port for Messenger Service won't do a thing for instant messaging clients because the two are totally unrelated.

You apparently had previously set Windows Messenger to automatically logon to the service each time you logon to Windows. The easiest thing to do is open the main UI, go to Tools->Options->Preferences and uncheck "Run this program when Windows starts".

If it doesn't run, it can't auto-logon to the .NET service when you logon to Windows, and you won't get the automated IM window announcing the impending doom of older Messenger clients.

Nice!
high-five on that one...
much easier than removing all the components from the registry and everything

Rename the messenger folder to messenger.old and it will stop running,.
